Grandpa Kenny

Rough, dry hands stained with dirt and grece, Soft wrinkly face with a five O' shadow, your typical grandpa with a twist. My grandpa is 68 but acts like he is 25, old beaten up pickup truck, with half its paint chiped away. He has his toys; a red chevy convertable, a yellow pickup with all the accessories, am4-wheeler, telehandlers and tractors are just a few. He grew up with his two brothers on a farm run by his dad, when he was in the 8th grade his father could no longer take care of the farm. My grandpa, dedicated to farming droped out of school to keep the farm running. His brothers went on to college while my grandpa worked almost round the clock to keep up with the chores. When his brothers returned from college they all work hard to keep the farm going, and over the years the got bigger and bigger and over they years thrned the farm into what it is today with 1,600 milking cows and run 3,000 acers or land.
When I think of my grandpa I have to laugh because he has a great sense of humor and always claims that he was my coach for anything that I accomplished. When you work with you you never know what he will have you do. He is very perticular about some things and careless about others. When it comes to lawns and trees you have to baby them and take good care of them and if you are driving in his yard you better not rip it up! But when it comes to my or his he can be a little careless, We pack our silage into giant hills on a blacktop slab and cover them with plastic them put manure on to hold the plastic down. He can be careless when it comes to taking off the plastic. He puts me in the bucket of the tellehandler and extends the boom all the way out before he gets a start to go up the side of the hill so we can pull the plastic off. Another time he was careless was when I was sitting on a round bale, we were grinding hay and just for the fun on it he picked up the bale and raised me all the way into the air on the bale! The bale was slippery from morning frost and I had all I could do just to stay on the bale until he put me back down.
My grandpa can be silly, obsessive and careless when it comes to me and the things I do but I know he always loves me and wants the best for me. Why else would he take the credit from me when I achieve something great right?

I love you Grandpa
